1. When you shake it, the pencil lead comes out.
2. You can also just press the top, like you would with a regular mechanical pencil.

This mechanical pencil comes with an eraser. You can reveal it by twisting the tip.

And did you know you can lock the filling in place with the clip? This prevents the filling from accidentally coming out.
