Masking tape, also known as washi tape or paper tape, is one of the most versatile stationery must-haves. Here are a few fun facts:

1. Also called washi tape
   Masking tape is often called washi tape, especially the brightly colored Japanese varieties. Not all masking tapes are washi tape, but in the kawaii stationery world, the term is usually used that way.
2. Reusable
   You can often carefully remove masking tape and reuse it. How well this works depends on the quality of the tape and the surface you're applying it to.
